Our Baltimore office is excited to announce the addition of a new creative hire: Jess Pfanner.

For the last six years, Jess has worked with Charm City Concierge; serving as the creative lead for brand development and implementation, campaign strategy, and the impending launch of their new app.

Jess, an Integrated Design MFA candidate, is also currently working on her thesis on the Messy History of Women in Graphic Design at the University of Baltimore. She brings with her a love for animation, a collaborative spirit, and ninja-like UX skills.

“Jess has a lot of incredible ideas, and her style is going to perfectly complement our creative team and client work — but more than that, she’s ready to push boundaries. With her on board, we can continue to take our work to places we’ve never been. I’m looking forward to the journey ahead.”
-Kathe Flynn, Design Director

Jess and her 65 lb. lap dog, Wyatt, are Louisiana natives but have loved exploring and embracing Charm City as home. Outside of work and school, she loves a good happy hour, traveling to both new and familiar places, and is in a perpetual state of redecorating her apartment.

We wanted to learn more, so we sat down with Jess over a cup of coffee to get to know her a little better:

How do you take your coffee?

Cream, no sugar.

Who inspires you?

So many people! Creatively, I have always found inspiration from the works of legends like Hannah Höch, Paula Scher & April Greiman. Generally speaking though? Michelle Obama is #goals.

What’s your favorite movie?

I’m a sucker for Love Actually

What do you love about Baltimore?

I love how every neighborhood has its own personality and no two are the same.

If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life what would you choose?

Ooh this is a toss up — shrimp po’boys or tacos.

What’s your favorite place you’ve traveled to?

I spent three weeks traveling across central and southern Spain from Madrid, Sevilla, and Granada and other smaller towns like Toledo, Ronda, Tarifa, and Segovia. I loved the opportunity to submerge myself in another culture for a prolonged period of time — the food (and loads of sangria), people, architecture, history, and cultural traditions all created an incredible experience.

What are you most excited about at Havas Helia?

Being apart of an amazing, collaborative team!
