QA with Liz Roche

Tell us a little about your background and how you landed at Havas Helia Chicago.

I’ve always been interested in data and personalization dating back to my days at Groupon. Most recently, I was at Facebook partnering with CPG retail clients. I worked with clients to better leverage their 1st party data on the platform, build their loyalty programs, and create personalized messaging. My focus was on shopper marketing and I consulted clients on how to transform loyalty data into a high-yielding asset. I loved my time there and wanted to help clients develop loyalty programs and bring data strategies to life across channels.

What drew you to our agency?

Big agency name, small consultancy feel with Mensa level talent.

Now that you’re here, what do you find most compelling?

The people. If you’re looking for the best and the brightest, it’s here. The Havas Helia team wants to solve the most complex business challenges. We live for curveballs. That intellectual curiosity is contagious. I love it.

What are you most excited to bring to the proverbial table?

I’m excited to bring more platform innovation to the table. As a digital native, I want to bring channel growth and development to life for our clients facing new challenges in the face of COVID 19.

What do you believe is the next chapter for Havas Helia?

With new shifts and challenges in privacy, first-party data will be more important than ever to our clients. However, first-party data has no value unless strategically operationalized. Clients are going to rely on us to guide them in the new privacy-centric marketing landscape.

How would you like to see data and technology further integrated into the Havas ecosystem?

I’d like to see us lean into data-driven performance creative even more. Performance marketing typically revolves around media, but quality and personalized creative absolutely contributes to the success of a brand in the market.

What’s the best piece of data advice you have for brands?

Own your customer data. If you don’t own it yet, build an attractive value exchange to incent your customers to share their data with you.

I would say Croatia but right before I started at Helia, I visited Canyon Ranch in Tucson AZ for a week. It was incredible.
