A three-tiered system, SmartMart® includes a staging database for loading, cleansing, and standardizing data; a transactional database for storing the data that has been readied for production; and an analytical data warehouse for reporting, measurement, and advanced analytical work. From those sources alone, you can garner all sorts of information about your customers including, but not exclusive to, their purchase velocity, product preferences, marketing channel engagement.
